SMART Tire Named Top 5 at Harvard’s Technology & National Security Conference!

We’ve got exciting news! The SMART Tire Company has been selected as a Top 5 company at the Technology & National Security Conference at Harvard Business School (Cambridge, MA) this April!


Out of a highly competitive pool of hundreds of groundbreaking innovations and startups across the country, SMART Tire was 1 of the chosen 5 to pitch on the Klarman Hall main stage in front of 1,000+ investors, government officials, and top academics from Harvard and MIT. This is a huge opportunity to showcase our game-changing airless and bullet-proof tire technology to key decision-makers in U.S. National Security, the Department of Defense (DoD), and military branches around the world.

Some of our SMART Tires and NiTinol material will also be on display for demos at Batten Hall of Harvard Business School, for all to see, touch, and ask us questions.

With millions of military vehicles and fleets in operation, the demand for durable, maintenance-free tires has never been greater. SMART Tire’s shape memory alloy (SMA) technology—born from NASA innovation—is catching the attention of the defense sector as a critical advancement in military mobility, autonomous vehicles, and logistics.

The Pentagon operates more than 420,000 ground vehicles. About 170,000 of those are non-combat vehicles (staff cars, delivery vans, box-trucks, pick-up trucks, fuel trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, fire trucks, buses, etc). 

The US military spends over $29M on approximately 716,000 new replacement tires every year. The SMART Tire Company is working to provide safer, longer-lasting, and more sustainable tires that will be much more efficient, but still highly protective for military operations in the future. 🇺🇸
